Smithsonian Con Sabor! Gala. In 2007, the Center pays tribute to the rich influence of Mexico on our society. In addition to featuring the very best in Mexican cuisine, culture and entertainment at the gala, the Smithsonian Latino Center has partnered with the Mexican Cultural Institute and other organizations in Washington, D.C. to create “Mexico at the Smithsonian,” a series of more than 20 public programs, exhibitions and film screenings that highlight the influence of Mexican culture on our collective heritage.
